Dr. Singh has a deep understanding of regional agricultural problems and leverages this expertise to identify startup innovations that address gaps in the agricultural sector. Dr. Amarjeet currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Pusa Krishi, IARI, ICAR, New Delhi. He holds a Ph.D on “Agrarian Distress and Farmer Suicides in Punjab” and an M.Phil. on “Agrarian Crisis in Highly Developed States: A Case Study of Punjab,” both from Panjab University, Chandigarh. Dr. Amarjeet joined ICAR-NCAP in 2012, where he conducted a survey involving over 2,000 farmers across India on various issues and published numerous papers.

In January 2014, he joined Pusa Krishi, ZTM & BPD Unit and facilitated the transfer of over 100 IARI technologies to more than 500 industries. Simultaneously, he evaluated over 6,000 startups under various projects and worked directly with more than 300 agri-startups at Pusa Krishi, ZTM & BPD Unit, ICAR-IARI, New Delhi. He has published three books, contributed four book chapters, and authored 20 research papers. He also received the Dr. D.K. Desai Prize Award from the Indian Society of Agricultural Economics, Mumbai, for his paper on “Total Factor Productivity Growth in the Indian Crop Sector.”
